Introducing tVNS®

Pioneering the Future of Neuromodulation

tVNS® E uses gentle, non-invasive impulses to stimulate the vagus nerve through the skin at the ear. This central regulatory system of the body supports stress management, recovery, and mental clarity – crucial for elite athletes, executives, and anyone who wants to maintain long-term performance. At the same time, the targeted activation of neural networks promotes balance, anti-inflammatory processes, and the brain’s adaptability – key factors for healthy ageing and long-term vitality. Clinically tested, well tolerated, and flexible in application, tVNS® can be seamlessly integrated into daily life, training, and recovery.

Transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS®) works via a natural communication pathway between the body and the brain – the vagus nerve. This nerve plays a central role in regulating stress, cardiovascular function, sleep, mood, pain perception, and inflammatory processes.

With tVNS®, gentle electrical impulses are delivered to the cymba conchae of the ear, an area with direct access to vagus nerve fibers. The impulses activate afferent fibers that transmit information from the body to key regulatory centres in the brain, such as the brainstem, limbic system, and prefrontal areas.

Use tVNS® anytime, anywhere

Stress and recovery regulation

tVNS® activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which can improve heart rate variability, modulate stress hormones such as cortisol, and promote inner calm – particularly relevant for peak performance in sport and management.

Neurotransmitter Stimulation Balance

Stimulation may indirectly support the release of key neurotransmitters such as serotonin, noradrenaline, GABA, and glutamate. This helps stabilise mood, attention, motivation, and the balance between activation and relaxation.

Neuroplasticity

Repeated impulses activate neural networks that enhance the brain’s adaptability. Overactive stress or pain networks may be calmed, while healthier signalling pathways are strengthened – a key factor in mental performance and healthy ageing.

Anti-inflammatory positive effects

tVNS® stimulates the cholinergic anti-inflammatory reflex, which may help dampen low-grade inflammatory processes in the body – important for long-term health, recovery, and performance.

In short, tVNS® delivers targeted impulses that help regulate the nervous system, buffer stress responses, promote recovery, support brain function, and enhance the body’s long-term adaptability – without invasive procedures, suitable for outpatient use, and generally well tolerated.

A recent randomised, sham-controlled study by Ackland et al., 2025 (Queen Mary University of London / William Harvey Research Institute) investigated tVNS in healthy volunteers. The results suggest that 7 days of daily tVNS (30 minutes) may increase maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂peak) and improve exercise capacity. Indications of a possible reduction in inflammatory responses were also observed. These data underline the potential of tVNS® to support performance in sport or management, while also promoting long-term physical balance and vitality.
